Liposuction works best for people who are at or near a healthy, stable weight but still have localized pockets of fat that have not responded the way they would like to diet and exercise. Dr. Azar performs tumescent liposuction regardless of whether the patient is awake or asleep because this involves injecting local anesthesia with adrenaline, which minimizes bleeding during the procedure.
