A thigh lift is an involved surgical procedure that reshapes the thighs by removing excess skin and fat.

Known as thighplasty, this surgical process targets the lower body and gently reduces unwanted tissue to create sleeker contours that complement the body. It also includes a tightening liposuction procedure to add firmness to the newly sculpted body. The whole process creates a whole new outlook for patients looking to address issues of aging, pregnancy, or recent weight loss. Patients who haven’t gotten the results they want from exercise and a healthy diet may find that a surgical thigh lift is a great solution. At Azar Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, we look forward to starting your new journey to an upgraded body. Dr. Kouros Azar is renowned in the Thousand Oaks community for patient satisfaction. To get started on your body revival, schedule a consultation or call our office at (805) 373-7073.

About Thigh Lift

Loose skin can become a problem. It lies within the thighs and hips and is common after childbirth or weight loss. Luckily, there is something we can do to correct this. Thighplasty is performed by making a small incision in your body’s natural creases. Dr. Azar will extract unwanted tissue situated in your thighs so that your thighs are proportional to your hips and waist, and you are left with smooth contours. [1] The remaining skin is then pulled up, tightened, and secured with sutures. The result is ravishing-looking thighs that are much firmer. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Azar to learn more about how a thigh lift can be beneficial to you.

Designate a loved one or friend to take you home and care for you overnight so that your recovery starts on a high note. Inner Thigh Lift

An inner (medial) thigh lift is the most common form of this type of surgery. It addresses issues of sagging skin in the inner thighs. Dr. Azar will fine-tune this area and focus on the skin to bring forth a better look of the legs. Incisions are better concealed using this method.

Bilateral Thigh Lift

Bilateral Thigh Lifts Address the outer portions of your thighs. The doctor will make a gentle, skillful incision along the top and bikini line to ensure it is barely noticeable. Skin is then redraped so wrinkles and folds can be smoothed out, resulting in better-accentuated thighs.

Mini Thigh Lift

Depending on your specific needs, it may be determined that you would be a good candidate for a mini lift. It requires fewer incisions than other thigh lifts. This method is perfect for those wanting to focus on the upper-inner most part the thighs.

Recovery

Our team will be at your side every step of the way to make sure that you are well. After your procedure, your incisions will be dressed for recovery. Temporary small thin tubes may be placed in these incisions to drain out extra bodily fluids.

Patients are advised to keep their bodies in reclining, standing, or seating positions to facilitate the fluid draining process.[4] Be sure to take periodic, brisk walks to stimulate blood flow. We will prescribe pain management medication to reduce your discomfort. You may notice minor bruising or swelling, but these side effects will gradually disappear within 2-3 weeks. Dr. Azar will schedule follow-up appointments to remove any drains or sutures. He will also monitor your progress to ensure the recovery stage is going according to plan.

Plan to take about 4-8 days off from work. Regular activities can be resumed after 4-6 weeks. [5] This is because your body needs time to adjust to the new outlines of your trimmed thighs. You’ll begin to see a noticeable difference in your leg contours immediately after surgery but full results won’t become apparent for several months.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

A thigh lift is a great way to remove sagging skin from the upper legs.

However, you can also further enhance the body using other cosmetic procedures. Even after significant weight loss, some fat remains, presenting difficulties in your path to an improved body. To address stubborn body fat, Dr. Azar may recommend liposuction. It goes well with various enhancement techniques that sculpt your physique. If you have loose skin in your midsection, you may want to think about the benefits of a tummy tuck. In this procedure, Dr. Azar carefully removes redundant folds along the belly to make a flat core.

Thigh Lift Cost

A thigh lift is designed to meet all of your unique needs. It is a highly customizable procedure and as a result, the cost varies. Expenses of a thigh lift depend on several factors, including the incision technique and the extent of the enhancement. Having said that, Dr. Azar is committed to providing you a clear understanding of the financial cost. We encourage you to browse through our periodic specials and take advantage of additional savings. Several financing options are also available to patients.

Thigh Lift Frequently Asked Questions

Are There Different Types Of Thigh Lifts?

Yes, there are three main types of thigh lift: the inner lift, bilateral lift, and mini lift. Each lift is special and will be recommended by Dr. Azar according to what works best for you. An inner lift would be great for those looking to enhance their skin elasticity from age or significant weight loss. Bilateral lifts benefit patients with excess skin on the upper or outer portions of the thighs. Finally, a mini lift is for people who need minimal updates to their skin.

Am I A Good Candidate For Thigh Lift Surgery?

Everybody is unique. If you have excess skin that hides your natural good looks, then a thigh lift may be a great solution for you. Good candidates should be at or near their ideal body weight. The skin along the thigh area must be free of infections to avoid complications.

Is A Thigh Lift Permanent?

Nothing in life is truly permanent. Aging causes the skin to mature a lot quicker. A thigh lift can stop the clock a bit by removing unwanted excess tissue. After receiving a thigh lift, your upper legs will have contours that are more flattering to your body. Weight fluctuations may cause the results to change a bit as increases in fat reserves can stretch the skin.[6] Make sure to let our staff know if you struggle with weight management. Our staff will take your lifestyle and medical history into consideration when recommending a personalized procedure.
