The Derrière You Want
Dr. Azar offers two treatments to help you achieve a shapely, lifted buttocks.
Many women and men who feel dissatisfied with their rear ends choose gluteal augmentation to lift, enlarge and reshape the buttocks. There are two choices to achieve an enhanced buttock:
Buttock implants feel much like natural gluteal muscle. They are made of soft, solid silicone that will not rupture or break. Dr. Azar performs buttock augmentation while the patient is under general anesthesia. During the procedure, Dr. Azar makes a single discreet incision over the tailbone between the buttocks. He carefully places an implant beneath the gluteus maximus muscle in each buttock, and then sutures the small incision closed.
Fat injections may also be used to augment the buttock. The amount of augmentation depends on how much of your own fat is available.
A simple liposuction procedure is performed from the abdomen, love handles or back, and the fat is filtered and washed before being injected immediately into the buttock.
Some of the injected fat cells will be re-absorbed by your body, but usually over half of the fat will remain, providing long-lasting augmentation of the buttock. It can require more than one procedure to achieve the desired results.
Your Recovery & Beyond
Dr. Azar performs gluteal augmentation to help patients have more rounded, shapely and curvaceous buttocks. For enhanced contouring, Dr. Azar combines gluteal augmentation with other cosmetic body contouring procedures, including a buttock lift and liposuction.
After your surgery, you will need to avoid sleeping on your back for about 2 weeks. You will be given specific restrictions regarding sitting on your buttocks, as well.
While experiences vary, most patients are allowed to resume work about 2 weeks after surgery and most normal activities after about 4 weeks.
