Laser Vein Removal
For the treatment of varicose veins, Dr. Azar offers endovenous laser vein treatment (EVLT), the safer, less-invasive alternative to vein stripping. Without making any incisions, a tiny laser catheter is inserted into the vein. After administering local anesthesia, energy is emitted from the catheter to obliterate the vein.
EVLT has about a 98 percent success rate, with the problem vein usually disappearing within one to two months following treatment. Varicose veins can also be treated with laser therapy. For reticular veins, we recommend ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy.
