Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty, also known as a “ tummy tuck,” eliminates excess fat and skin around the midsection giving you a flatter stomach, trimmer waistline, and sleeker, more defined abs. Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) at our Thousand Oaks office begins with an incision made from one hip to the other to create a skin flap. Next, the skin is separated from the abdominal muscles, which are then tightened, narrowing the waistline and flattening the midsection. The flap of skin is then folded down and excess skin is removed. Finally, the flap is replaced and the incision is stitched closed. The entire procedure takes between two and three hours, depending on how much work is needed to achieve your desired results. Most of our patients who undergo abdominoplasty, visit our Thousand Oaks office for a follow-up visit and return to their normal daily activities within two to three weeks.

Liposuction

Although a healthy diet and a regular exercise regimen are the best ways to lose weight, many people still just can't seem to get rid of fat pockets and cells from problem areas. This is particularly true for the legs, buttocks, hips, stomach, arms, chin, neck, and ankles. Liposuction helps our Thousand Oaks patients target these problem areas and obtain a body that is more sculpted and toned. Liposuction begins with a small incision in the treatment area. Next, a thin, hollow tube called a cannula is inserted into the incision, and fat cells, pockets, and tissues are vacuumed out and discarded. Liposuction is performed at our Thousand Oaks office on an outpatient basis under anesthesia and can last two or more hours. Once the area has healed, typically within one to two weeks, one should notice a firmer, tighter physique.

Liposuction, Tumescent

Like traditional liposuction, tumescent liposuction is a surgical procedure used to eliminate fat pockets and cells from your body’s problem areas. However, tumescent liposuction – considered the safest type available – allows for large removal of fat with very little blood loss. It is also conducted under local rather than general anesthesia, so it can be performed quickly and has a much shorter recovery period. Most patients return to work the next day and can resume exercise within one week. After the procedure, you should notice a more streamlined and sleeker physique.

Extremely safe, there have been no serious complications associated with tumescent liposuction. Contact our Thousand Oaks staff to schedule an appointment.

Gluteal Augmentation

Exercise and weight training do little to change the shape or size of the buttocks. Gluteal augmentation, or buttock implants, can lift, enlarge and reshape the buttocks. Unlike breast implants, buttock implants are made of solid silicone – they will never rupture or break. During gluteal augmentation, one discreet incision is made over the tailbone between the buttocks, an implant is carefully placed beneath the gluteus maximus muscle in each buttock, and then the small incision is sutured closed. Gluteal augmentation results in a more rounded, shapely and curvaceous buttocks. Most normal activities can be resumed about four weeks after surgery. For optimal results, gluteal augmentation can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures including buttock lift and liposuction.

Leg Vein Treatment

Superficial leg veins, also known as spider veins or superficial varicose veins, are groups of red and purple veins that commonly appear on the thighs, calves, or ankles. Leg veins are a common condition among men and women and may be hereditary. There is no known cause for these veins, although they seem to occur after pregnancy or to people in occupations that involve prolonged standing. More economical than lasers, and effective for varicose veins of all sizes, sclerotherapy involves the injection of a solution that causes irritation to the veins, ultimately causing them to close off after about four to six weeks. Some areas will require more than one injection. Our goal is to significantly reduce the number of these veins by 70 to 80 percent.

Lower Body Lift

Losing a substantial amount of weight can improve your overall health and boost your self-esteem. Once the pounds have been shed, especially following bariatric surgery, many people notice that their skin is stretched, sagging and loose. A lower body lift, also called belt lipectomy, is performed to remove the surplus skin and tissue left after extreme weight loss. Similar to a face lift, a lower body lift can tighten and tone, making the hips, thighs, buttocks, stomach, and waistline firm and smooth. The techniques used in body lift are very similar to those used in abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), except that a lower body lift is a more involved, in-depth procedure. Excess skin and tissue are trimmed away, remaining skin and tissue are tightened, and the incision sutured. The dramatic and often life-changing results of a lower body lift include a flatter stomach, narrower waistline, and more taut and sculpted hips, thighs and buttocks.

Thigh Lift

If a regular routine of exercise and healthy eating doesn’t seem to have the desired effect on your thighs, a thigh lift may be a good option for you. Designed to tone the thighs, the thigh lift procedure uses liposuction to remove excess skin and tissue, and a tightening procedure to add firmness to the newly sculpted area. The result is slimmer and more toned and shapely thighs.
